Top 3 Beauty Trends for 2021
The services that will give you a fresh new look for spring

by Suede Salon
Back in December 2007, three women came together to pull a struggling salon out of bankruptcy. Today, Suede Salon and Spa is a successful business founded on the vision of a family work environment delivering the services of a larger corporation but with personal customer service. Suede has grown and doubled its employees and continues to thrive in its 14th year in business.

Co-owner Kim Carusillo says, “We are passionate for the industry which is ever changing but have stayed steadfast to our original vision because it works. We continue to make sure our artists are educated on the latest trends in all facets of the beauty industry so we can pass these onto our clients while the trends are hot. We are fortunate to be located in the Promenade in Marlton, one of the most luxurious addresses in the area, which we take great pride in.”

After the challenges we all experienced in 2020, the team at Suede is taking on 2021 with a positive attitude. “We are rolling out some new ideas for our clients this year. In the hair department we had the staff trained in a new hair extensions concept, hand-tied extensions. In our spa we are showcasing the HydraFacial, a tried-and-true, all-in-one client favorite because of the instant results it delivers, except we’ve added new ampoules and serums to boost all your skin needs,” says Carusillo. “Finally in our nail department we just completed training for gel nail tips, a technique in the nail industry that offers the long nail trend, which is back and hotter than ever, without the commitment to acrylic nails.”

We asked several team members at Suede to tell us more about these new trends and how you can benefit.

HydraFacial
Megan, licensed esthetician, lash extension tech and makeup artist
“This amazing ‘all-in-one treatment’ cleans, exfoliates, peels and performs extractions as it infuses the skin with peptides and antioxidants. The skin immediately looks refreshed and vibrant. A booster can be added for optimal results to target specific skin concerns such as hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles and scarring. This facial treatment delivers clinical results. It’s just three steps in 30 minutes for the best skin of your life!”

Hand-Tied Hair Extensions
Domenique, stylist/colorist, certified hair extension expert
“These extensions are applied exactly as the name implies—the stylist applies each weft to a row of strategically placed beads onto the existing hairs of the client’s head. Your stylist then hand sews the wefts of hair onto the row of beads.
“One advantage to hand-tied extensions versus other methods is the lack of adhesive residue. Other methods can require an adhesive bond of some kind which can lead to a sticky removal process, leaving residue behind in the natural hair. With hand-tied extensions there is no residue or remover, simply come back to your stylist every six to eight weeks to have the beads moved up.”

Gelish Soft Gel Tips
Linda, licensed nail technician
“No matter what we wear to life’s celebrations, our hands matter. This service costs less than a full set of acrylics or hard gels and they soak off in three weeks. Gelish soft gel tips are a pre-shaped nail that offers the latest lengths with full coverage in just 20 minutes. Made with lighter-than-air Apres jelly-life material, these tips are designed to move with the contour of the natural nail, for a stronger fit and more break-resistant design that lasts for 21 days. You can have flawless nails in just 30 minutes.”
