by Staff

Suburban Family spoke with members of the Brightview Greentree team in Marlton and here’s what they had to say about their job and the residents they care for each and every day.

Jennifer Steen
Executive Director
Four years at Brightvew
Why do you like working at Brigthview Greentree?

We have wonderful support from our home office and regional team. Someone is always there to lend a helping hand. Brightview provides us with all the tools to get the job done and be able to care for our residents.

What types of interaction do you have with residents?
It is very import for me to be visible and keep the lines of communication open as well as timely.

What is the biggest satisfaction you get from your work at Brightview?
It’s rewarding to have built a strong director team who are not only coworkers but friends. And also being a part of so many residents’ extended families and to hear their stories.

Bryan Burns
Senior Assisted Living Director
Eight years at Brightview
Why do you like working at Brightview Greentree?

I enjoy the people I work with and enjoy serving the seniors in their home. I love our slogan: “A great place to work and a great place to live for the residents.”

What types of interaction do you have with residents?
As the senior assisted living director, I have many interactions with residents every day and that is the No. 1 reason why I love talking with and seeing the residents daily. I get to know them and they get to know me.

What is the biggest satisfaction you get from your work at Brightview?
The biggest satisfaction I get is being able to demonstrate that all residents are cared about and kept safe every day.

Amy Hazlett
Health Services Director
Two years at Brightview Greentree
Why do you like working at Brightview Greentree?

Brightview cultivates an atmosphere that is vibrant and provides the residents an opportunity to live an active and meaningful life, surrounded by friends and associates who care about them.

What types of interactions do you have with residents?
I interact with the residents on a continual basis. The initial nursing assessment is the foundation of a tailored health service plan that is individualized to meet their specific needs. I continue to interact closely with the residents, their physicians and families to ensure that as those needs change, we are there to deliver a holistic approach. It is important that Brightview meets their physical needs as well as focusing on their emotional and spiritual well-being.

What is the biggest satisfaction you get from your work at Brightview?
Working at Brightview provides me the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with the residents. I believe the senior population has so much wisdom and experience to share. I love conversing with them and learning about their past, their families, and their passions. I truly enjoy watching them flourish in this vibrant community.

Joe Santucci
Maintenance Director
Two years at Brightview
Why do you like working at Brightview?

Every day is a different challenge. It can be as little as looking for a pair of glasses a resident dropped behind their desk or as big as completely updating an apartment for a new resident move in. No two days are alike.

What types of interactions do you have with residents?
Our resident Don liked to go to the mountains and ski. Don found out that I snowboard and as soon as the cold weather hits we discuss what mountains I’ll be visiting that season. He has been to just about all of the ones on my list. Peggy is the only resident in our community from my hometown. We connected instantly over people and places we both know.

What is the biggest satisfaction you get from your work at Brightview?
The friendships that I have formed. I consider myself lucky to be able to call so many people I work with friends. The residents and coworkers at Brightview make it more than just a workplace. They make it a home away from home.
