Gwynedd Mercy University
Make a Difference—For Yourself and Others

by Staff

At Gwynedd Mercy University, you'll see and be seen, hear and be heard, know and be known. That’s because GMercyU is large enough to offer the academic, athletic and real-world learning you’re looking for, but small enough that professors know you by name.

Everything GMercyU does is inspired by its mercy mission and core values of integrity, respect, service and social justice. These values are integrated into every one of 30-plus undergraduate majors, so that all of its graduates are ready to do well and do good as professional and global citizens.

At the university, you will find a caring and supportive environment, and a deep commitment to making a difference—for yourselves and for others.

The Griffin Edge
A Mercy education—and all of the experiences that come along with it—helps graduates carry forth the values they learn in the classroom as future leaders in boardrooms, hospital rooms, classrooms and other organizations all over the world.

As a GMercyU student, you will participate in a personalized program called The Griffin Edge. Built on the 5 E’s: Excellence, Engagement, Experience, Empathy and Encouragement, the Griffin Edge is designed to help you customize your education so you get the most out of your college experience.

From your very first semester, you’ll develop valuable skills of self-reflection to help you become thoughtful about your work, your purpose and your future. With a special focus on service and social justice, you will hone your ability to reflect on what you’re doing and how it can set you up for success in the future.

Throughout your college journey, you’ll be challenged in the classroom academically, but you’ll also take part in real-world experiences and service opportunities—whether through internships, research, student teaching, clinicals or Alternative Spring Break service trips. You might sharpen your leadership skills as part of the Griffin Student Leadership Institute—or build your teamwork skills as a student-athlete in one of the 19 NCAA Division III athletic teams or as part of one of many clubs and organizations.

At GMercyU, you’ll also find plenty of support when you need it. In addition to faculty who will feel more like mentors, you can take advantage of advising, workshops, counseling and even one-on-one tutoring, all at no additional cost.
