Academic Excellence
Neumann is known for its exceptional programs in nursing and health sciences. A new, multi-million-dollar Health Sciences Center opened in January 2019 to accommodate classes in nursing, physical therapy, athletic training, strength and conditioning, exercise physiology and other programs.

In 2019, Neumann also opened a Data Analytics Lab to support new majors in cybersecurity and data science & analytics. Students in the communication and digital media major can use the school’s high-tech radio and television studios from their first semester on campus.

Neumann’s arts and sciences, business, criminal justice, education and sport management faculty bring unparalleled experience to the classroom. And that’s just a sampling of the academic expertise you’ll find here. Look at the list of majors and pick your passion.

Internships in Every Major
Your classroom experience will be challenging, but your education won’t stop there. Neumann is a recognized leader in combining classroom theory with practical experience and requires that every student complete at least one internship. Many students complete more than one. Your professional internships and field experiences will let you test your skills, discover your talents and build a professional network.

Athletics
Neumann has 23 NCAA Division III athletic teams that compete in the Atlantic East Conference, the Eastern College Athletic Conference and the United Collegiate Hockey Conference. Facilities include the 72,000-square-foot Mirenda Center, the Bruder Athletic Baseball and Softball Fields, a university turf field and the Ethel Sergeant Clark Smith Memorial Tennis Courts. At Neumann, however, sports are about more than modern facilities. Working with the Center for Sport, Spirituality and Character Development, its teams complete community service projects, nights of reflection and leadership training.

Community Service
In line with Neumann’s Catholic Franciscan heritage, you will engage in service-learning as part of your core courses. Beyond this core commitment, different opportunities to serve are always available through service-learning courses, volunteer work and advocacy. All service experiences are grounded in Neumann’s RISES values (Reverence, Integrity, Service, Excellence and Stewardship).

Week-long service-immersion trips are offered during the fall, spring and summer breaks, working with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and the Valley of Angels orphanage in Guatemala. Neumann’s longest-standing service immersion trip is to the Wind River Indian Reservation of the Arapaho and Shoshone tribes. Among the parishes, you can perform upkeep projects and learn about the reservation’s culture.

Career Preparation
The Career and Personal Development Office offers comprehensive career preparation resources, including résumé and cover letter assistance. Services are delivered via one-on-one appointments, drop-in hours, classroom presentations, events and collaboration with offices on campus. A career management platform is provided to every student for job and internship postings, an employer network and event announcements.

Location
Neumann’s scenic 133-acre campus sits high on a hill in suburban Aston, Pennsylvania, just a 25-minute drive from Philadelphia. New York City, Washington, D.C., and the New Jersey shore are just two hours away, providing abundant opportunities for entertainment, sports, internships and jobs.

Residence Halls
Every suite in its residence halls is cable-TV ready and includes a private bathroom, air conditioning and WiFi. Neumann offers computer labs, a cardio-weight room, 24/7 security and free laundry rooms.

Neumann invites you to take a tour, sit in on a class and ask its students why they’re happy here. Visit www.neumann.edu/visit to arrange a tour.

Neumann’s strong tradition of learning and compassion allows you to balance liberal arts, professional preparation and community service in a college experience that is designed to ensure that you can Discover the NU You.
