by Joe Metz

On the Menu: A trio of tasty tacos to try this month
Chipotle Tuna Tacos
Mexican Food Factory in Marlton

This plate offers a blend of Eastern ingredients with Mexican flavor. Flour tortillas are filled with fresh tuna steak then topped with jicama slaw, tomatoes, scallions and chopped peanuts. The side of chipotle mayo serves as a spicy finishing touch.

Smooth Operator
Coco’s Cocina in Pitman

This unique take on the usual order of tacos features three beer-battered avocados, black beans, grilled corn, lettuce, pico de gallo and Monterey jack cheese drizzled with avocado crème. All of these fresh ingredients are put into the confines of a taco shell that gives a big crunch, followed by a smooth finish, all for the price of $12.

Coconut Shrimp Taco
Central Taco and Tequila in Haddon Township

Originally served exclusively as a monthly special, this dish became so popular that it was eventually added to the menu permanently. This house-made taco features crispy coconut shrimp, spiced pineapple confit, served on top of an avocado crema on a soft shell base. This fusion of tropical cuisines with a Mexican classic combines to make an irresistible dish.
