For patients with jaw pain and radiating headaches, caused by grinding of the teeth or clenching, laser pain therapy directed at the temporomandibular joint can offer a relief from the constant discomfort. “With laser pain therapy, we keep heat on the affected area and massage it for 10 minutes,” Dr. Rifai says. “And people talk wonders about it after they leave saying they feel relie f.”

If a patient calls because of an emergency dental problem, the staff will make the arrangements necessary to see him or her that same day.
“I feel for patients when they have pain,” Dr. Rifai says. “Obviously, when someone is calling and they have severe pain, y ou want to get them out of pain as soon as possible because there is nothing like dental pain.”
If it is after hours, patients are still encouraged to call and leave a voicemail. As soon as that voicemail is received, a staff member will make contact shortly after.
