Top Five RCGC Degrees with Work Experience
A close partnership between Rowan College Gloucester County’s (RCGC’s) Business Studies Division and the South Jersey business community enhances the academic portion of a student’s degree program with hands-on experience and career exploration.

1. Business
A close partnership between Rowan College Gloucester County’s (RCGC’s) Business Studies Division and the South Jersey business community enhances the academic portion of a student’s degree program with hands-on experience and career exploration. Through the division’s cooperative education program, students are offered the unique advantage of pursuing internships and cooperative education experiences to better prepare them for the workforce. RCGC’s cooperative education program has been selected by South Jersey Biz magazine’s “ Best of  Biz”  for four consecutive years. For more information, visit RCGC.edu/Business.

 2. Nursing  
Health care providers across the region rely on RCGC to prepare exemplary health care practitioners. Emphasis is placed on fostering knowledge and skills to facilitate success in the classroom and clinical instruction at medical facilities for professional workforce experience. Students demonstrate their knowledge, respect for individual dignity and a commitment to e xcellence, while actively preparing to take the National Council of Licensing Examination (N CL EX-RN). This dedication to a well-rounded, quality education prepares RCGC students to meet the health care needs of consumers in the r egion. 3. Engineering
A unique articulation agreement with premier partner Rowan University offers stud ents the opportunity to complete the first two years of an engineering sciences degree at RCGC then seamlessly transfer to the Henry M. R owan College of engineering science program. Graduates with a G PA of 3.5 or higher are guaranteed acceptance into Rowan University’s engi neering program as juniors, in majors such as biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, civil and environmental engineering, electric al and computer engineering, engineering entrepreneurship and mechanical engineering. Process Technology
Designed for students interested in careers working in industrial plants, students enrolled in the process technology program prepare for employment in the pharmaceutical, chemical and petroleum processing industries. Students are exposed to a scientific background emphasizing hands-on work, critical thinking skills and opportunities for internships throughout the region. Students gain the skills needed to join  a growing workforce in the pharmaceutical, chemical and petroleum industries with competitive starting salaries. Education (Teachers 2000)
Education majors have the opportunity to observe the teaching p rof ession first hand when they participate in RCGC’s Introduction to the Teaching Profession course and its new field experience option being  piloted this semester. Students are assigned classrooms in an elementary/ middle/high school—depending on the grade level that they plan  to teach—in one of the 12 school districts in Gloucester County partnering with the college. Over a five-week period, for a total of 10 hours, students examine the techniques and styles of experienced teachers in real classrooms. For more information, visit RCGC.edu/Educa tion.
