Advice from the Expert
Warmuth Institute of Dermatology

by Kaytlyn Mroz

As a board-certified dermatologist and MOHS micrographic surgeon, Dr. Ingrid P. Warmuth M.D., medical director of the Warmuth Institute of Dermatology, treats patients across the New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware region. In addition to treating your skin conditions to ensure you are maintaining a healthy and vibrant complexion, Dr. Warmuth also offers cosmetic and laser dermatology treatments and services to her patients.

Suburban Family spoke with Dr. Warmuth about her popular service, CoolSculpting. Below, she tells us what CoolSculpting is, how to know if you are a good candidate and more.

What is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is the only noninvasive, FDA-cleared treatment that uses cooling technology to eliminate and destroy stubborn fat. There are over 70 clinical peer-reviewed studies and over 4 million treatment cycles completed to date. It is the most proven technology in the noninvasive, fat-reduction market. We offer CoolSculpting in our Elmer office and just launched the grand opening in our Swedesboro location. Our practice is a CoolSculpting Certified Practice; both our staff and providers have attended and graduated CoolSculpting University.

How does it work? Is it safe?
This treatment delivers cooling technology to gently target fat cells under the skin without harming the surrounding tissues. Treatments take as little as 35 minutes. Over the next 90 days following treatment, your body processes those dead fat cells; this leaves behind a new and improved you. This treatment is FDA cleared and has been proven to be safe and effective.

What does the procedure feel like? Will patients feel pain?
There is no pain associated with this procedure; minor discomfort may occur for some patients, but this is mild and temporary. A gel pad and applicator are applied to the targeted area and a vacuum draws the tissue gently into the applicator cup. The applicator then begins the controlled cooling process of the targeted fat. This treatment is customizable and comfortable with no downtime. Patients can watch television or use their phone during treatment in the comfort of our CoolSculpting room. We offer dual sculpting in our Elmer office; dual sculpting allows our practice to treat two areas at the same time which allows a quicker treatment time for our patients.

How do I know if I am a good candidate for CoolSculpting?
A good candidate has pinchable, stubborn fat that will be able to fit in our applicators. There are multiple sized applicators that are utilized to customize the treatment for your body shape and your desired outcome. To see if you are a viable candidate, schedule a free consultation today to receive your unique treatment plan for a more beautiful and confident you.

Is CoolSculpting a costly procedure?
CoolSculpting pricing is different for everyone based on their treatment plan and how many areas are being treated. The Warmuth Institute of Dermatology offers free consultations to create a custom treatment plan for every patient.

When will I see results and what is recovery time like?
Results are seen in as little as 90 days. These results vary for every patient; eating a well-balanced diet and exercising is encouraged to see optimal results. Weight gain will prevent you from being able to appreciate your full results. There is no recovery or downtime associated with this procedure. Let 2018 be the year to change your body.
