Dec. 2: Brighten up the Boro
Glassboro comes alive each year with holiday cheer at the annual Boro in Lights tree lighting event. Rowan Boulevard will be decked to the nines in lights and decorations, with horse and carriage rides, an ice sculpture demonstration and an appearance by Santa Claus himself, who helps light the Boulevard’s massive evergreen tree. ?

Dec. 4: Santa at Smithville
Spend the afternoon welcoming Santa to Smithville as you stroll through Historic Smithville Park listening to carolers, watching ice carving demonstrations and touring the Smithville Mansion. There will be vendors selling their wares, a bonfire with s’mores and hot cocoa, and more; even real, live reindeer who are taking a break before Dec. 24. ?

Dec. 4: Fun for All
Special needs children and their families are invited to hang out with Santa and participate in the tradition of taking photos in an environment that’s sensitive to their needs. Dec. 10: Historic Holidays
Come out for the annual Holiday Open House of Alice Paul’s birthplace at historic Paulsdale. Learn about the equal rights advocate through the “In Pursuit of Ordinary Equality” exhibit, enjoy refreshments, gift shops, holiday decorations in Quaker style and of course, the history that surrounds you. ?

Dec. 25: Party the Day Away
Jewish families across South Jersey have a fun way to celebrate Dec. 25 together at the Katz JCC’s Family Fun Day. It kicks off with a character breakfast at 10:15 a.m. featuring kid favorites like Elmo, Rapunzel and Chase from Paw Patrol, followed by a Fiddler on the Roof sing-along for all. The night ends with their annual comedy show, Laughter & Lo Mein, featuring comedy and a full Chinese buffet for dinner. ?

Dec. 31: Something to Celebrate
With Hanukkah ending on New Year’s Eve, there are plenty of reasons to celebrate. The Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey is throwing the party of the year in a family-friendly setting, including food, games and a DJ so you can dance the night away. Adults can BYOB and lounge while children can make their own sundaes and count down the minutes to next year.
