While I loved Mexico, by the end of the week we both couldn’t wait to come home. As the plane circled over South Jersey preparing for landing we smushed our faces against the window, looking for our favorite spots in the area, like Knight Park in Collingswood, the Riverton Yacht Club and our home.
Alex and I met as students at Rowan University, and he went on to cover news in South Jersey for three years, while I have enjoyed covering South Jersey here at the mag- azine. We were even married in the town that sits right between our two childhood homes. So, needless to say, South Jersey is engrained in our relationship.
This bond is what makes the Best of Family issue easily one of my favorite months each year. It’s always such an honor to share these fantastic businesses with you year in and year out. Businesses like this—and the people that run them—are one of the many reasons I love coming home time and time again.
