Minutemen Football
Washington Township
The boys of the Washington Township High School football team recently teamed up with their special needs classmates to create their own football clinic. Sponsored in part by the Special Olympics of New Jersey’s Project Unify, the athletes taught participants about the sport, and explained the importance of friendship, fellowship and fun through the game. They explained techniques like passing, cradling and even huddled up like they would during a regular varsity game.

Quakers Lacrosse
Moorestown
The Moorestown High School girls lacrosse team won their 85th consecutive game on Thursday, April 16 against long-time rival Shawnee High School. After a close first half score of 4-3, three straight goals by sophomore varsity player Quinn Nicolai kept the unbeaten streak alive, and the Quakers finished with a 10-5 victory. Moorestown’s remarkable streak finally ended at 88 with an 11-10 loss to Ridgewood.

Cherokee Wrestling
Marlton
Cherokee’s wrestling team claimed the championship crown for District 27, with Cherry Hill West taking second and Seneca taking third. Connor Cosgrove took home his second title in the 113-pound weight class to help the Chiefs edge West by just five points with a final score of 176.5. This is Cherokee’s second consecutive district championship.
