Washington Township
Toth, the manager, and his coaching staff, Kraemer, Perez and Mascio, led the Washington Township 10A Blue travel team as it won the Tri-State Elite Baseball Spring Tournament. The Minutemen went 4-0 in the tournament and outscored their opponents, 59-6. This was the first tournament of the year for the defending Middle Atlantic Regional champions. They have also won eight of their first nine games.
Mike Sullivan, Scott McKay and Steve Monahan
Marlton
Sullivan and his assistants McKay and Monahan led the Cherokee High School club ice hockey team to the championship in the presitigious Flyers Cup AA Division. Cherokee posted a 24-3-2 record and became the first South Jersey team to win the AA Division title. The Chiefs defeated Parkland, 6-3, in the final and senior captain Cole Zucker was named MVP of the tournament.

Moorestown
The Moorestown eighth-grade girls team, led by head coach Flannery and assistant coach Kim, took home the championship in the Inter-County Basketball League Senior A Division. The girls avenged a regular-season loss by beating Rancocas Valley in the first round, then defeated Mount Laurel, 37-20, to reach the championship game. In the final, Moorestown earned a hard-fought 32-29 victory over top-seeded Monroe thanks to some clutch foul shooting by Quinn Nicolai and Caroline Muccifori.
Kim Wilson
Glassboro
Wilson, the long-time softball coach at Rowan University, recorded career win No. 600 when the Profs toppled rival The College of New Jersey in April. Wilson has more than 500 victories in 17 years at Rowan and also won 64 games in six seasons at Washington & Jefferson College in Pennsylvania. She has been named New Jersey Athletic Conference Coach of the Year four times with the Profs.
Bill Kingston
Moorestown
Kingston, the legendary boys and girls tennis coach at Moorestown High School, notched his 1,000th career victory with the boys team when the Quakers defeated Watchung Hills, 3-2, on April 13. Kingston, in his 40th season, became the first coach in any sport in South Jersey history with 1,000 career wins. He also holds the national record for boys tennis victories at the high school level.
Bob Bickel
Haddonfield
The Haddonfield High School baseball team defeated Colonial Conference foe Lindenwold, 13-2, in late April to give Bickel his 200th career win with the program. The victory came against Lindenwold coach Mike Scannell, formerly the freshman coach at Haddonfield under Bickel. The Bulldawgs have won three conference championships and one South Jersey title under Bickel.
Dennis Hurley
Camden County
Hurley was recently inducted into the South Jersey Track Hall of Fame for his outstanding achievements as the men’s track coach at Camden County College. He posted a 73-18 record at CCC, which included a 10-year undefeated streak. He was also a successful cross country and wrestling coach at the school and was inducted into the South Jersey Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1990. Although he left coaching in 1990, he remains an active official at all levels and is a member of the National Wrestling Federation.
Jamie McGroarty
Voorhees
McGroarty earned his 100th career win as the head softball coach at Eastern Regional High School when the Vikings beat Cherokee, 13-4, in late April. McGroarty, who led Eastern to the Group IV state championship last year, had a 100-34 record in six seasons after the Cherokee game. He is also a successful girls soccer coach at the school. Senior Megan Parker collected her 100th career hit and senior Madison Tiernan scored her 100th career run in the same game as McGroarty’s milestone win.
Beth Taubman and Jody Stansbury
Mount Laurel
Taubman and Stansbury coached 12 Lenape High School student-athletes to medals at the Burlington County Area 13 Special Olympics track and field meet on April 27. The coaches guided both of Lenape’s 4x100 meter relay teams to second-place finishes in the county.
Jim Baker
Medford
Baker, the boys tennis coach at Shawnee High School, guided the Renegades to a second-place showing at the Burlington County Open, just one point behind winner Moorestown. His star freshman, Eric Tecce, took the second singles title in the match of the day, a three-set victory over Moorestown’s Tyler Blessing. Baker’s squad had a finalist in all three singles spots, as well as No. 2 doubles.
Mike Glick
Mount Laurel
Glick and team manager Tina Madden guided the Jaguars Midget Minor 16AA team to a first-place at the Atlantic District Tournament in the Youth Tier II Division. The Jags went on to compete at the USA Hockey National Championships in Troy, Mich.
Dan McMaster
Cherry Hill
The loss of 10 seniors and seven starters could have slowed down the Cherry Hill West High School baseball team, but with the leadership from coach McMaster plus a nine-game winning streak, the team went to the 40th Annual Joe Hartman Diamond Classic. The Lions were ranked at the No. 3 at-large slot for the competition.
