U13 Marlton Rec Council Girls’ Lacrosse
The fifth- and sixth-grade girls on the U13 Marlton lacrosse team (pictured) went 15-0 for an undefeated season that culminated in a championship win in the South Jersey Youth Girls’ Lacrosse Tournament as well as taking a divisional title in the Moorestown Festival Tournament. Many of the girls on the team also played throughout the year on the U13 championship Marlton Lightning soccer team and Marlton Lady Chiefs basketball team, earning a ‘three-peat’ of championships for the year.

Mount Laurel 15U softball team
Mount Laurel
The Mount Laurel 15U softball team won the 15U bracket of the 19th Annual Gloucester City Softball Tournament at the end of July, in a come-from-behind victory. They beat Babe Ruth state champion Willingboro Jemz by a score of 7-4.

Haddonfield 15U Bulldawgs
The Haddonfield 15U baseball team won the Tri-State Elite Summer Baseball Tournament. They defeated 10 teams from across the East Coast, overcoming the extreme heat against competition from New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Medford Junior Renegades
The Junior Renegades won the 7/8A Division of the South Jersey Lacrosse League title this summer. In their battle to become champions, they beat the Clearview Pioneers 13-10, the Mount Laurel Indians 13-9, and the Marlton Lady Chiefs 15-10 in the finals.

GVAA Rangers
This season was a home run for the Rangers, who are the 2012 Babe Ruth varsity champions of the Gibbsboro Voorhees Athletic Association. They earned the title after going undefeated in the playoffs with a 3-0 record.

Cherry Hill U12 Girls Soccer team
Cherry Hill
After finishing undefeated in the regular season, Cherry Hill’s U12 girls’ soccer team went on to win the Cherry Hill Tournament championship game earlier this year. That was quickly followed up by being named 2012 champions of the South Jersey Girls Soccer League Northern Conference. Their overall record was 17-0, and in total this year, the girls outscored their opponents 56-5.

U13 Mount Laurel Flash
Mount Laurel
Mount Laurel U13 Flash’s girls won the Northeast Regional Championship Tournament, capturing the title in a 4-0 wipeout. The team scored 14 goals in the tournament overall, and earned the opportunity to move onto the National Championship in Illinois.

The Cherry Hill Atlantic Little League Girls Softball 11-12 Division
Cherry Hill
The Cherry Hill Atlantic Little League Girls Softball 11-12 Division, the defending district champions led by coaches Kevin Hoopes and Mike Swain, defeated Oaklyn/Merchantville in the District 13 Tournament in mid-July to once again earn a district title.

Shawnee Renegades Ice Hockey Team
This middle school team went undefeated in the South Jersey Middle School Ice Hockey League. The Renegades achieved their final win of the season against Blackhorse of Williamstown with a score of 4-2.

Marlton 8U Reds
The Marlton 8U Reds took the 2012 Cal Ripken Southern New Jersey State Championship title at the end of July. The team didn’t lose a single game throughout the tournament, dominating Medford in a five-game series.

Wedgewood Swim Club
Haddonfield’s Wedgewood Swim Club beat the Pheasant Run Swim Club of Cinnaminson in a dramatic final race on July 21 to claim the Division A Tri-County Championship title.

Moorestown Diamondbacks Youth Baseball
The Diamondbacks came out on top in league competition at the end of June, and are now the Moorestown Youth Baseball Federation AAA National League champions.
