Leshko, a field player and goalie for the U-11 Fury Cinnaminson Soccer Club, scored the only goal in the final game of a recent tournament, winning the age-bracket championship for her team. Leshko was also named a Star Athlete at her school, Saint Charles Borromeo.

Dom Meglino

Kayla Rodriguez
Rodriguez, who has been skating since she was 4 and competing since age 7, placed seventh at the 56th World Roller Figure Skating Championships in Brazil, against 33 elite junior contestants from around the world. Through the years she has won numerous awards and has been name Youth/Elite Female Skater of the Year four times, as well as the first place winner of last summer’s 2011 National Figure Skating Championships in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Eric Carlin
Mount Laurel
Carlin, 19, proved once again that he is one of the best skaters locally and across the world. On Jan. 30, Carlin broke his second world record for skateboarding in less than a year, completing 44 ollies in 60 seconds. In July, he broke the previous world record for most consecutive ollies by completing 247, stealing both titles from professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek.

Bobby Isopi
Lenape High School senior Isopi was selected as one of the 49 winners of the 2011 Mini Max High School Award winners for the state of New Jersey. He received his award at a banquet in January.

Mike Ryan
Cherokee senior Ryan became the first-ever All-American player in the school’s soccer program, according to head coach Anthony Gallo. Ryan scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 Group IV state championship victory over Bridgewater-Raritan and was named as Player of the Year at the end of the season.

Marissa Toci and Elana Molotski
Mount Laurel
Lenape junior Molotski and sophomore Toci recently earned All-State Gymnastics Team honors. Both girls were also recipients of Olympic Conference and All-South Jersey team honors. Further, Toci was selected as South Jersey Gymnast of the Year.

Carolynn Clark
Clark, a senior varsity field hockey starter, officially made a commitment to attend Division 1’s Villanova University in the fall. Clark, a midfielder and forward, was an All-State, first-team All-Group 2, and All-South Jersey selection for field hockey, with 15 goals under her belt.

Jim Cashman
Cashman, a Haddonfield senior, was recognized as the New Jersey Football Player of the Year by the N.J. Maxwell Football Club at its awards banquet in mid-January. The offensive lineman, who scored 1980 on the SAT and was accepted to Harvard and Columbia, is committed to play football at Boston College in the fall.

Jake Backal
Eastern’s Backal, a four-year varsity wrestling starter, was named to the first-team all Group IV wrestling team, as well as the all-conference team. He went 23-10 last season.

Ilana Jacobs
Youth soccer player Jacobs, 10, raised more than $3,500 for the Mia Hamm Foundation through her off-season lemonade stand. Jacobs, a player on the Moorestown Soccer Club, placed third in the New Jersey Youth Soccer League’s fundraiser, earning a spot at a special lunch with soccer legend Mia Hamm herself.

Eliana Roth
Cherry Hill
Roth is no stranger to winning: She’s been the national junior skating champion for three years running. Roth, a junior at Cherry Hill West and a member of the Skyliners Synchronized Skating Team, appeared with her teammates on the Today Show in January, after winning the world junior qualifying tournament. The team will represent the United States as USA Team No.1 at the junior world synchronized skating championships in Sweden this spring.
