These Moorestown Friends School seniors (pictured) were named National Merit Scholarship Competition semifinalists. The commended students, representing the top three percent of the nation’s high school seniors, scored highest in the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, administered to more than 1.5 million entrants.

Moorestown Friends School seniors Hege and Gibson have been named National Achievement Scholarship Outstanding Participants. The National Achievement Scholarship Program is an academic competition established in 1964 to provide recognition for outstanding African-American high school students.

This Lenape Student of the Month served as the Master of Ceremonies for the Volunteer Center of Burlington County’s Youth Service Exposition last month, and also helped lead the Burlington County Youth Service conference in May. Stockhecker is a Gray Team Captain and a member of Lenape’s baseball and wrestling programs.

Shawnee senior Woods won the Chapter Showcase Manual GOLD Medal during the National FCCLA Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California.

Giana Reed, an 8th grade honor student at St. Charles Borromeo School, received her 10 year dance award at Annamarie’s Academy of Dance and was selected as the youngest performer to participate in the dance troupe’s hallmark piece “Fantasy.”
Lindsay Cohen

Lindsay Cohen, a sixth grader at Voorhees Middle School, was recognized for her entry in an essay contest during Heroes Remembrance Day, a 10-year tradition at the school. Cohen, along with her sixth grade team, wrote essays recognizing their personal heroes, during a day of remembrance, singing, playing music, and reading poems.

Haddonfield
Latane, a 7th grade Haddonfield student, won this year’s Ethal Mae Hocker Scholarship last month. After a rigorous interview process, where he demonstrated his high GPA and commitment to community service, Latane was one of three students chosen for full tuition scholarship to Christ the King Regional School in Haddonfield.
