Chestnut Ridge Middle School Humanities teacher Lori Bathurst has been awarded a 2010 Best Practice Award from the Committee on Teaching About the United Nation’s Planning Committee for her “Humanities Hope for Change” program. The focus of the program is on the causes and effects of the 1994 Rwandan genocide. She was honored at the group’s conference at the United Nations in New York City.

Kellman Brown Academy first-grade teacher Leslie Gordesky and fifth-grade teacher Ryna Alexander received the Herman Fraint Memorial Award for Jewish Day School Teaching Excellence, for demonstrating dedication, effective teaching and a commitment to the mission of the Academy.
Thomas Traub

Lenape High School’s Thomas Traub has been recognized as February’s Employee of the Month for his exemplary work. Traub has been teaching at Lenape for 14 years and conducts the LHS chorus, girls ensemble, concert choir, chamber choir and teaches piano and music technology. He is also the vocal director for the Lenape school musical.
Bev Siti & Melissa McNally
Washington Township
Librarian Bev Siti and physical education teacher Melissa McNally of Hurffville Elementary School dressed up and went above and beyond to kick off the school’s Hollywood-themed Read-a-Thon. Siti and McNally encouraged students to spend at least 15 minutes each day in February reading, to become “Red Carpet Readers.” Last year, the program succeeded in encouraging some 356,000 minutes of reading.

A social studies teacher for more than 30 years, Jerry Boggs was selected as Lenape High School’s 2011 Teacher of the Year. He endlessly devotes his efforts to enhancing his students’ learning experience by continuing his own education, participating on the One Book/One School committee and designing sets for student performances.
Carrie Randall

Shawnee High School Special Education teacher Carrie Randall was chosen as January’s Employee of the Month. Randall has been teaching since 1998, advises the new Tea and Elegance Club and took on the responsibility of overseeing the renovations to the courtyards at Shawnee.

Tracy Betts, an English teacher at Seneca High School, has been chosen as the 2011-2012 Seneca Teacher of the Year for her seven years of leadership, passion for teaching and dedication the school and her students.
Melissa Farrow
Marlton
Cherokee High School North mathematics teacher Melissa Farrow was honored as teacher of the month for leading the implementation of a brand new graphing calculator that the district has required students to use in freshman math. Farrow spent her summer and night hours attending workshops and meetings.
