Lenape High School Girls’ Soccer
The Indians (pictured) are the state champions for the fourth consecutive year, a first for any South Jersey Group 4 high school sport. They also won a fourth consecutive South Jersey Coaches Tournament and Olympic Conference American Division crown. Lenape went 23-1-1 and played one of toughest schedules in the state.

Cherokee High School Boys’ Soccer
The Chiefs earned the second state Group 4 title in school history by defeating Hunterdon Central, 1-0, in the championship game. Cherokee earned the South Jersey Group 4 title with a penalty kick shootout victory over Shawnee after the teams played to a 1-1 draw through regulation and overtime. The Chiefs went 17-5-2 and allowed just five goals in four playoff victories.

Moorestown High School Girls’ Tennis
This year was the Quakers’ 21st consecutive sectional title. This season, the team finished with a 22-4 record, and captured the South Jersey Group 3 championship, 5-0, winning over Kingsway.

Haddonfield Memorial High School Boys’ Cross Country
The Bulldogs, led by senior duo Matt Nussbaum and Ben Potts, won their fifth straight state Group 2 title. The Bulldogs also finished second in the state Meet of Champions, behind national power Christian Brothers Academy.

Mount Laurel Fleetwood Indians Football
For the first time in Fleetwood Indians history, all five levels of teams were represented in the South Jersey Independent Youth Football Association league championship games. Four of the five teams went on to win their championship games. Weight Class 75 Pounds: After enjoying their winning season, this Fleetwood team of players ages 8 or younger triumphed over Haddonfield’s same weight-class team, 19-6, in the championships. Weight Class 90 Pounds: This team of kids ages 10 or younger enjoyed their fourth straight undefeated season, before taking the championship over Haddonfield, 33-6. Weight Class 105 Pounds: The 12-year-olds punctuated a winning season with a 27-6 championship win over Haddonfield. Junior High Level: This team of middle-schoolers trumped Moorestown to take the championships.

Eastern High School Girls’ Field Hockey
The Vikings (26-1) won a 12th straight state Group 4 title, beating Bridgewater Raritan in the championship game. Eastern ended as the No. 2 team in the state, advancing to the Tournament of Champions final before losing to perennial state powerhouse Oak Knoll. Eastern was also the Olympic Conference American Division champions.

South Jersey Elite Barons U11 Boys Soccer
The team capped off a very strong season of soccer with a 5-0-0 record in winning the MSSL Explosion tournament at Fort Dix. A number of new faces were seeing their first tournament action with the team and performed very well. The team dominated their games with two shutouts in the tournament.

Washington United Piranhas
The Washington Township team won the Maps Cup tournament this fall, earning a statewide No. 5 ranking in U14 girls soccer.
