Something to Grin About
All Smiles Family Dental utilizes an amalgamation of innovative technology and compassionate care to provide patients with healthy, beautiful smiles.

by Carly Murray

Everyone has their own expectations and assumptions of what it’s like to receive extensive dental care, which are often shaped by childhood memories, popular culture, or misconceptions and fears. At All Smiles Family Dental, Dr. Nermeen Rifai aims to give her patients an experience that is both relaxed and beneficial. From open communication to modern techniques culminating in optimal results, All Smiles Family Dental patients have nothing to fear and much to gain.

It all starts with Dr. Rifai and her team getting to know each patient, their goals and their concerns. They often find that anxieties are commonly caused by an aversion stemming from negative childhood experiences—and are easily alleviated by patients’ familiarity with All Smiles Family Dental and its staff. If there is still hesitation, nitrous oxide (laughing gas) can provide additional support.

“Our first visit is basically getting to know the patient, doing a cleaning, exam, checkup, X-rays, and then we sit and talk to them. At that time, we're able to address any type of concerns,” Dr. Rifai says.

After all, dentistry has evolved rapidly in the last few years, and continues to progress as scientific research advances the industry. One such example is platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), a regenerative medicine that reconstructs bone tissue and stimulates bone growth with the patient’s blood. This method has both health and cosmetic benefits.

“We use this to keep us younger with facial regeneration. So we'll withdraw blood, put it in a centrifuge machine and reinject it in their face. It's utilized instead of fillers to give facial volume and just regenerate youth,” says Dr. Rifai.

Similarly, opting for implants rather than dentures will minimize the loss of bone structure as well as the physical effects of aging. With bone grafting, Dr. Rifai confirms that the bone tissue is stable after tooth extraction by using the PRF regeneration method that mixes a patient’s bone graft and blood to clear any infection and to promote strong, healthy implants.

“A lot of times what happens is, when we lose our teeth, we lose bone structure. When we lose bone structure, we automatically age because we get that sunken appearance in our face. So, implants replicate a root structure or your actual tooth in the bone,” she explains. “And if there is no root structure or there is no implant, you're going to continuously lose more and more bone. The aging process is going to happen a lot faster. If you have an implant, it prevents further bone loss… just as if you were to have teeth.”

Dr. Rifai brings her unique specialization as a member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics. The added skill and training that come with this membership ensure that Dr. Rifai’s multidisciplinary approach is constantly evolving, and takes more than just the mouth into account to achieve the best possible results that benefit a patient holistically.

All Smiles Family Dental covers any dental concern or procedure, with several options to tailor each visit to each patient. In addition to implants and bone grafting, services include cosmetic dentistry, surgery, Botox, pain therapy, and periodontal, preventative and emergency dentistry. Each procedure has its own health or aesthetic advantages that span across all aspects of oral health, beginning at the root or the tissue to guarantee long-lasting results.

Many dentists offer standard procedures, but not all of them can help one to achieve a completely transformed smile. From rebuilding broken teeth to complete mouth restoration, gum regeneration and whitening, patients leave All Smiles Family Dental with newfound, life-altering confidence. Patients also emerge confident about maintaining ideal oral health long into the future, as Dr. Rifai and her team are available after a visit or procedure to guide patients toward strong habits with their expertise.

Dr. Rifai affirms, “If somebody comes in upset with their smile, we can take their smile from something that they're not happy with to something that they can really smile about.”
