Alec Chilcote
A Bordentown Native, Petty Officer 2nd Class Chilcote has been serving in the Navy for four and a half years, and is now a naval aircrewman. Driven by an urge to explore the world and hard work, Chilcote has achieved a lot since graduating from the Burlington County Institute of Technology. His proudest accomplishment is becoming qualified as an aviation warfare operator, which took years of work and service to achieve. As a naval aircrewman, Chilcote and his crew fly and maintain aircraft to maintain maritime patrols.

Rafael De Moura
At Burlington County's 3rd annual Juried Short Film Festival this month, De Moura was the only award recipient from the county, winning Outstanding Narrative Drama for his film, Memories Withered. The Marlton Native had his film screened along with other award winners and filmmakers throughout the United States and the world. The film follows a man with dementia waiting for his wife to return. De Moura was one of nine award winners and of 23 films screened from over 100 films submitted to the festival.

Dr. Harold Connolly Jr.
A mission sample scientist and chair for Rowan University's Department of Geology, Connolly co-authored the first academic article produced from NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission that brought an asteroid sample from space back to Earth last year. “Surprising Phosphate Finding in NASA’s OSIRIS-REx Asteroid Sample” was published on June 26, and describes the findings from analyzing the sample, which include the asteroid's (Bennu) composition of "primitive" elements, remnants of an early solar system.

Emily Hirshorn
A student from Deptford, Hirshorn recently received an award for winning the Elks Drug Awareness Poster contest at the state level for the 2023-'24 school year. The contest, open to 3rd through 5th graders, was themed "Be Kind to Your Mind - Live Drug Free," and the posters were judged based on quality and originality. Hirshorn joined her family and the Deptford Township School District on June 19 to receive her award and to celebrate her accomplishment.
