Art Imitating Life
Learn the craft of acting from the area's most experienced, passionate actor and teacher

by Staff

Renee Weisband is the owner and artistic director of Renee’s Acting Studio.

With the experience and expertise to teach necessary acting skills to natural-born actors or those who have never acted a single day in their lives, Renee exposes her students to a variety of acting techniques.

Weisband knew from a very young age she wanted to act. After spending years on stages in New York, eventually she started teaching acting to children and is very passionate to this day about passing down her craft. Renee is a certified teacher as well as a professional union actress – she is a member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA.

“I still perform several times a year in small theater companies in Philly. I have always believed that performing makes me a better teacher. I approach life as an actor,” says Weisband.

Classes offered at Renee’s are for children and adults in groups or private one-on-one lessons. Among the variety of classes offered, one of the popular classes Weisband teaches is improvisation, which helps students become more aware and think on their feet. Audition and monologue preparation is another popular class offered where Weisband teaches techniques used to cut a monologue from a play for audition purposes.

“I make the students familiar with what happens at an audition,” she says. “We actually become each other’s teachers.”

Students wanting to learn the craft of acting will not find a more experienced, passionate actor and teacher than Renee Weisband. She says: “I will be an actor until the day I die.”
