Rochester earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and his law degree from the Boston University School of Law. He has argued many high-profile cases and has argued extensively before the appellate courts of New Jersey on family law issues. Additionally, Rochester has argued before the New Jersey Supreme Court on matters involving custody of human embryos in a divorce. He has been a panelist for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education and the Burlington and Camden County Matrimonial Early Settlement Panels.
“A lot of cases I’ve worked on have helped shape New Jersey family law, for example, some appellate cases have resulted in significant changes in child support and alimony laws,” says Rochester.
High-profile cases aside, the bulk of Rochester’s clients are W-2 wage earners for whom he handles divorce, custody, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, domestic violence, name changes, pre-nuptial agreements and stepparent adoptions. Proceeding with a divorce is a life-changing event and Rochester offers empathy with dose of reality built in to help clients realize their world will be different moving forward, but that they will be able to move forward and rebuild.
