Exploring the Benefits of 3D Physical Therapy
As 3DPT celebrates its 11th year in Medford, the company remains focused on their commitment to its Community and quality of care.

by Kristen Jorgensen

When Ken Guzzardo and Jeff Sallade opened 3 Dimensional Physical Therapy 12 years ago, they endeavored to create the type of place where they would want to work and where they’d want their own families to go for physical therapy. Their goal was to focus on being outstanding in three areas: quality of treatment, superior customer service and having a deep-rooted involvement in the community.

Keeping those things and their core values—community, honesty/integrity, accountability, stepping up and a commitment to excellence—top of mind has helped guide every decision, from who they hire to how they deliver a great patient experience.

“The most important mission to us as a company is that a patient understands what 3DPT stands for the moment they come through our doors,” says co-founder Jeff Sallade. “You will see our core values listed on the wall in the reception areas of all our offices because we want these values to be front and center for every employee to remember and every patient to see.”

Community is at the top of the list when it comes to core values. “We want to actively bring value to our communities and support our towns, neighbors and partner businesses. We love taking part in events, so you will probably run into us at local festivals, Little League games, parades and just about anything in the community because we truly care about being involved and making a positive impact,” Sallade shares.

3DPT’s Medford clinic was the company’s first location and holds a special place for Guzzardo and Sallade who are also residents of Medford. You’ll see both of them coaching their children’s sports teams and volunteering at school events. Sallade also grew up in Medford and attended Shawnee High School. He still visits the school every year as a guest instructor at Shawnee’s Sports Medicine class to talk to students about a career in physical therapy and challenging them to balance and strength contests.

3DPT also generously offers a scholarship program to outstanding high school seniors each graduating year “in hopes of motivating the younger generations to develop the same core values we believe in as a company. Twelve years ago, we had one scholarship recipient. This year, there were 12 among all of our clinics,” says Sallade.

Honesty, integrity and accountability are also of the utmost importance to the company, which has a goal of wanting to earn the trust of every patient who chooses 3DPT. That means they will be honest in every situation and honor the commitment to providing the service and care that they promise to anyone who walks through the door.

“Our promises include spending the necessary time and care with each patient by not scheduling more than two patients per hour, working to ensure patients do not have to wait for appointments and can work with the same therapist at each visit,” says Guzzardo. “We have received tremendously positive feedback that patients appreciate that personalized care.”

“Treatment is the first step of care, but beyond that, the importance of education and motivation are equally as important. We help you completely understand your injury, goals and treatment process—and how to maintain and improve your health post-treatment. In addition to that, we motivate our patients to live a healthy lifestyle. We’re your coach, cheerleader and friend throughout your treatment to keep you focused and on track to achieve the best possible results,” says Sallade, a four-time IronMan competitor. “I have had both of my hips replaced so that experience has helped me gain insight into the mind of someone who is going through hip and knee replacement rehab.”

Physical therapy can be uncomfortable and recovery can be a long road. 3DPT wants patients to know that they will be there for them and are committed to seeing them succeed.

“We work with our patients to develop a customized treatment plan that meets their individual goals and specific needs. Everything is curated to meet the unique needs of each patient because there is not a standard set of exercises or stretches for everyone. Physical therapy is not a one-size-fits-all type of care,” Sallade says. “Each 3DPT employee is committed to providing the best customer service and physical therapy care to our patients, across the board and in each one of our locations.”
