South Jersey’s Kennedy Health hospitals now feature a name change to all signage after officially merging with Philadelphiabased Jefferson Health. The hospitals are now reflected as Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital, Jefferson Stratford Hospital and Jefferson Washington Township Hospital.
The Department of Transportation’s $900-million Direct Connection project to improve the interchanges between Routes 295, 76 and 42 has extended its completion date from 2021 to 2024. A DOT spokesman said the increased time was needed to purchase more land for the Browning Road replacement.

Students enrolled in Washington Township High School’s “Tomorrow’s Teachers” course will have the opportunity to enroll in Stockton University’s “Pathways to Learning” course and be eligible for four college credits. For the special price of $400, these students can apply the credits to Stockton University and other accepting schools.
Last month, Rowan University entered U.S. News & World Report ’s national university rankings at No. 90 among public institutions and No. 171 overall out of 311 national universities. The Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering was ranked No. 19 among the best undergraduate engineering schools in the nation.
Police Blotter
Willingboro police are searching for a man who almost hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk at Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County with his SUV. The driver and pedestrian exchanged words and then the driver revealed a handgun and threatened the pedestrian before fleeing. This happened on Oct. 5 around 8 a.m. and police are asking the public to contact them with any information.
A Haddon Township man has been Sentenced to 10 years in state prison after pleading guilty to killing his 3-year-old son in 2015.
Moorestown police are warning residents of phone scammers in their area. Police say people are receiving phone calls of persons acting as U.S. Marshals and county sheriffs saying they have failed to report for jury duty and are now subject to fines needing to be paid through a prepaid debit card.

The Eastern girls soccer team handed coach Jamie McGroarty his 400th career win as the Vikings defeated Bishop Eustace, 3-1. McGroarty’s daughter, sophomore midfielder Kelli, scored in the victory to help her dad improve to 400-107-44 in 26 seasons at Delsea and Eastern. McGroarty is the all-time wins leader in South Jersey.
Kayla Frank had a hat trick as the Moorestown field hockey team knocked off Northern Burlington, 6-0, to complete a perfect 8-0 season in the Burlington County Scholastic League Liberty Division. The win improved the Quakers’ overall record to 9-2.
Kayleigh Kitchen, a senior on the Cherokee girls volleyball team, set a school record with her 520th career kill in a 2-1 victory over Eastern. The previous mark had stood for 10 years.
Eddie Grant scored the game-winning goal in overtime off an assist from Rob Rogowski as the Cherry Hill East boys soccer team slipped past Cherry Hill West, 2-1. It was the first game in the history of the rivalry played on East’s campus after years of playing on satellite fields.
