Name: Sunnie Allen
Hometown: Willingboro
Talent: Singer-songwriter
Allen grew up in Willingboro and was influenced by music at a very young age. Showcasing her talents by singing to her parents when she was a toddler, Allen’s musical influences grew as she got older. Famous female soul and R&B artists like Jill Scott, Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu resonated with Allen while the late Amy Winehouse has been her main influence in her career.
A BCIT Westampton graduate, Allen continued her education at Burlington County College. As music became more and more prominent in her life, she decided to leave school and focus on her singular passion. Allen, known by her stage name, Sunnie, has remained local, still living in Willingboro and performing in local shows.
Allen just released her album “Magic,” with Records DK. The 10-track project combines yesterday’s and today’s soul with R&B, topped off by Allen’s powerful vocals. “Magic” is available on iTunes and google music.
