A preview of the best and the brightest in spring’s varsity competition.

South Jersey has seen its share of ruthless competition. From varsity athletes crushing records and going on to make a name for themselves nationally, to teams overcoming all odds to capture championship titles, our area’s athletics have become the stuff of legends. And this spring seems to be no different, with a new batch of varsity athletes joining seasoned veterans in yet another season of heated matchups.

Join us as we take a look at the spring varsity season for 2015, highlighting baseball, softball, boys and girls lacrosse, boys and girls track, golf, tennis and boys volleyball.

We preview what teams could take it all, and look at the athletes that are expected to shine above the competition, looking specifically at the Bishop Eustace Crusaders, Camden Catholic Fighting Irish, Cherokee Chiefs, Cherry Hill East Cougars, Cherry Hill West Lions, Clearview Pioneers, Eastern Vikings, Gloucester Catholic Rams, Haddonfield Bulldawgs, Kingsway Dragons, Lenape Indians, Moorestown Quakers, Moorestown Friends Foxes, Paul VI Eagles, Seneca Golden Eagles, Shawnee Renegades and Washington Township Minutemen—and Minutemaids.

Which teams will win, and which teams will surprise us? Only time will tell. Until then, take a look at our predictions for this spring and see where your favorite team stands.
