Ashlee Steinberger (pictured)
Haddonfield
Steinberger, a Haddonfield Memorial grad and Fairfield University freshman, became the first individual champion of the 2012 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships for the Fairfield University swimming and diving teams. She racked up 250.60 points, winning the women's three-meter diving event by nearly 14 points over her closest competitor. She’s the first female diver to win a MAAC title since 1993, and was also named the Div. 1 MAAC Women’s Most Outstanding Diver.

Paige Trzaskawka
Medford
This 10-year-old rider took the Champion Ribbon at the annual HITS national horse show in Culpeper, Va. at the end of April. Paige is currently ranked 46th in the country for the Marshall & Sterling children’s division, and has been competing and training for two and a half years at Fox Hunt Farm in Lumberton.

Mario S. Huggins
Washington Township
This 6-year-old, 40-pound junior wrestler was selected as the 2012 Most Valuable Player for Washington Township junior wrestling tots division. He also took first place at the Jimmie Fisler Memorial Tournament for his division and went 13-2 last season.

Rob Vogel and Kristen Neidrach
Medford
Vogel and Neidrach were named Shawnee High School's Olympic Conference Scholar Athletes. Both attended a banquet honoring them on May 1, where each school in the conference honored an outstanding male and female scholar athlete. Vogel, a starting defender on the Renegades soccer team, plans to attend Duke, and Neidrach, a cross country runner and soccer star, plans to attend Cornell in the fall.

Mariah A. Cifaldi
Delran
Cifaldi is a four-year varsity track member and team captain at Delran High School. She now holds the school record for triple jump, with a record of 33.65 feet and her personal best in long jump is 16 feet. She will be attending Georgian Court University in the fall, where she will be a member of their track team.

Meghan Tippin
Southampton
Eighth-grader and competitive dancer Tippin won the Teen Miss Dance of PADT 2012 competition for the Chapter 25 division, and will go on to compete at the Dance Master of America Nationals in Anaheim, Calif. this July. She dances for Triplett Dance Academy of Medford.

Allie Hauer
Gloucester Township
Allie was one of the youngest people, out of more than 34,000 runners, to finish the Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run in Philadelphia on May 6. Allie finished the 10-mile race in 1:47:45, alongside her mother, with a pace of 10 minutes and 7 seconds per mile.

Ron Curry and Roosevelt Cubbage
Haddonfield
Curry and Cubbage, both seniors at Paul VI, are the school’s two scholarship athletes to sign Letters of Intent. Curry, a point guard, will attend Division I school James Madison University, while Cubbage will attend Wilmington University in Delaware, which is coached by Haddonfield native Mike Gallagher.

Tim Fox
Mount Laurel
Fox, best known for his work with Fox Rehabilitation in Cherry Hill, has also made a name for himself as a successful trophy cup race car driver during the past four years. This month, the Mount Laurel resident made his professional debut as a sponsored driver for Automatic Racing in an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 in the 2012 GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville.

Brad and Terry Zimmerman
Moorestown
This couple raised more than $20,000 for the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary as they ran one of the world’s most elite races: the Boston Marathon. The Zimmermans completed the 26.2-mile race in sweltering heat on April 16 as part of “Team Eye and Ear 2012.” The run was even more remarkable as it came just two years after surgery to remove a life-threatening tumor from Brad’s brain.

Kevin Barry, Joe Pellegrino, Brad Krell, Alex Reber
Cherry Hill
The Cherry Hill East foursome took home first place at the Woodbury Relays, with a time of 3:17.50 in the 4x400 meter relay, and went to compete at the Penn Relays in April. The athletes also competed at the New Balance Indoor Nationals in New York this spring.

Blaine and Liam Lafferty
Marlton
Brothers Blaine and Liam Lafferty are credited with driving Cherokee High School’s golf team to its first team title in the 31st annual Carl Arena/Al Rifkin Memorial Golf Tournament at Running Deer Golf Club in Pittsgrove. The brothers are both sophomore starters and second-year players; in the tournament, Liam finished with a score of 78 and his brother, 81.
