Walk of Fame
Kaitlyn Schoeffel

by Kaytlyn Mroz

Pageants, dancing, magic and game Shows are only a few aspects of Atlantic City native Kaitlyn Schoeffel’s busy lifestyle. Schoeffel competed in this year’s Miss America competition, but her passion for pageants began at a young age when she won the title for Miss New Jersey’s Outstanding Teen in 2007.

The Montclair State University graduate’s core focus as Miss New Jersey was performing arts, providing scholarships to students wanting to participate in dance, voice and acting classes. Schoeffel also manages being a magician’s assistant for her boyfriend, was a past winner of The Price is Right, travels the world and wants to pursue an MBA at graduate school.

Schoeffel’s talent portion included dancing en pointe and she answered an interview question about how Chris Christie’s “Beachgate scandal” was unfair to the public. She went on as a finalist at the Miss America pageant on Sept. 10 and was ultimately chosen as the second runner-up while Miss North Dakota, Cara Mund, was crowned Miss America 2018.
