Date Night Escapes

by Suburban Family-- Editorial Staff
Sometimes you just need to get away and focus on the romance in your life. So where do you go when the sitter is free? If you’re looking to spice up your date night and try something new, these six restaurants are for you. Not only do they create tasty dishes fit for the adult palate, but the ambiance and romantic settings will make you feel like you’re on your first date all over again.

1. The ChopHouse in Gibbsboro
Tuck into one of the ChopHouse’s private booths, order a bottle of wine from their award-winning wine list, savor a few top-notch steaks and get lost in the romance of this gorgeous space. If you’re looking for a seat with a view, then their lakeside covered patio is just the place. It comes complete with its own bar and bar menu, a roaring fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows that look out on the water, so you can watch the sunset with your special someone.

2. Catelli Duo in Voorhees
Opportunities abound at Voorhees Town Center, but when it comes to romance we always turn our sights on Catelli Duo. Kick the night off at the bar with one of their original cocktails, like the Fire & Ice, which combines Absolut Ruby Red vodka with cranberry juice and fresh jalapeño. Then dive into their menu, which is fit for sharing. Pick a handful of “uno” options—or small plates—and taste your way through their Italian reinventions.

3. Zeppoli in Collingswood
If you’re looking to impress your love with your culinary chops, check out this small-but-mighty eatery. Chef Joey Baldino has become nationally known as one of the top minds in Italian eats. With only 35 seats in the entire space, you’re guaranteed a bit of intimacy alongside handcrafted pastas and entrées that are simply irresistible.

4. Capital Grille in Cherry Hill
Get treated to the real luxury experience and let all the worries of the day slip away. Capital Grille is famous for their out-of-this-world service, with an oldschool steakhouse vibe that you can’t find anywhere else. Their dry-aged steaks are simply unforgettable, and when paired with any of their hundreds of wine varieties, you’ll find yourself totally lost in the moment.

5. The Melting Pot in Maple Shade
New to South Jersey is The Melting Pot, an indulgent fondue experience fit for two. Start with a cheese fondue appetizer, then make the switch to something a bit more savory—like meats, seafood and veggies cooked on your table in a variety of Melting Pot cooking liquids. But be sure to save some room for the real romance rekindler, their chocolate dessert pots.

6. Tavro 13 in Swedesboro
Tavro 13 has crafted a locally sourced menu that will make you fall in love all over again. We suggest trying one of their specialty fish entrées—like salmon with roasted tomatoes and a orange glace, finished with basil oil—while sipping away at a creative cocktail in their gorgeous, red dining room. The giant fireplace only adds to the heat you’ll feel between you and your sweetheart.
