Lenape senior Wood was one of the top 10 finalists in the 2014 KYW Newstudies competition. Wood, who serves as the executive producer for Lenape Television, was one of more than 100 students in the tri-state area to attend KYW’s 2014 workshops in Philadelphia to learn about news reporting. She was selected based off a story she created and edited about her own community, and was acknowledged for her win in February.

Amy Ribinsky
Medford
Shawnee’s Ribinsky was named the winner of the South Jersey National Organization of Women’s (NOW) 23rd Annual Essay Contest. Ribinsky was one of 130 students in South Jersey to submit an essay to NOW related to the topic of women in Congress, and the obstacles that female candidates face when running for office. Ribinsky was honored with a plaque at a ceremony in Moorestown in March.

Melissa Abrams
Moorestown
Abrams, a sophomore at Moorestown Friends School, was selected to perform as part of the 2014-2015 South Jersey Senior High Chorus. Abrams, of Cherry Hill, was one of 500 students from 50 schools in the area to audition for the chorus, and was selected based upon her tryout. She performed in two shows during the winter at Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees.

David Golkow
Cherry Hill
Golkow, a Cherry Hill High School East junior formed the club Athletes Against Bullying, to help encourage athletes to be role models and promote anti-bullying messages. In just a little less than a year, the organization has grown to 75 Cherry Hill students. Because of Golkow’s dedication to his message former Philadelphia Eagles player Vince Papale, spoke to the student athletes about sportsmanship as a part of one of the club’s training sessions that teach the students how to recognize and handle bullying.
