Lenape High School Marching Band (pictured)
Mount Laurel
This marching band has earned a reputation for success—clocking 10 US Bands New Jersey State Championships in the last 11 years, including one this fall—but this year they managed to capture a national title. The band took home US Bands Group II Open National Championship trophy at a competition in November at MetLife Stadium. It’s the first national title in band history.

Aidan Aquino
Marlton
Cherokee High School’s Aquino was named a National Hispanic Recognition Program scholar for 2014-15. He was selected as one of 5,000 international Hispanic and Latino students out of more than 250,000 applicants to receive the honor based on academic achievement and high PSAT/NMSQT scores

Washington Township High School’s Science League
Washington Township
Washington Township High School seniors, Phillip Wall, Arvind Venkataraman, Ronak Desai, Preyash Patel, Alex Hesketh, Ali Harb, Stephen Phung, Stephen Hoang, and Julian Savelski placed third in Rowan University’s Pumpkin Chuckin’ contest, where students launched pumpkins across a field with their homemade trebuchets. The seniors made up one of three teams from WTHS, and were the only high school students competing in the contest.

Allison Donahue
Cherry Hill
Donahue, a freshman at Cherry Hill High School East, received two WHYY Youth Media awards for her short film, Anonymous, which she produced while a student at Beck Middle School. Donahue was the recipient of the Thomas Scattergood Behavioral Health Award, and also placed first in the middle school category. Donahue was one of more than 145 6-12 grade students to submit an entry to this year’s Youth Media Awards.
