South Jersey Ballet School provides dancers with high quality, classical ballet instruction in a healthy, caring environment. Students receive individual attention and are encouraged to grow personally as dancers. Dancers are not only trained in the discipline of ballet but are encouraged to broaden and strengthen their techniques with many forms of dance. Ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, and contemporary movement are all the styles that make up the South Jersey Ballet School. Our highly talented teaching staff devotes their full attention to the well-being of the student, nurturing them from a young childhood to professional career.
A UNIQUE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
South Jersey Ballet students are accepted into the top pre-professional programs in the United States. Students are given the opportunity to attend these prestigious schools based on their technique, skill and experience the South Jersey Ballet School and Theatre provide. Such schools include ABT – American Ballet Theatre New York, Boston Ballet, Ellison Ballet, Gelsey Kirkland, Houston Ballet, Joffrey Chicago & New York, Kirov, Atlanta Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, San Francisco Ballet and Washington Ballet.
PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES
South Jersey Ballet School students have a range of performing opportunities. South Jersey Ballet School is the resident school of the South Jersey Ballet Theatre, the area’s premier performing company. South Jersey Ballet Theatre produces two full-length ballets a year, including "The Nutcracker" and a full-length spring performance. SJBS students also take part in student open house performances, as well as lecture demonstrations in the community. Naturally, all students perform in the Annual Recital, where they demonstrate what they learned throughout year. Ample performance opportunities allow students to grow as dancers and develop skills to carry them through their dance career and beyond.

TEACHING THROUGH PRACTICE
The South Jersey Ballet School studios are state-of-the-art performance facilities. The large studios are equipped with the highest quality ballet floors and can accommodate multiple classes. The flooring technology is designed specially to enhance technique and prevent injury. South Jersey Ballet is committed to providing a safe and clean environment to keep both the students and faculty healthy. Temperatures are checked upon entry. Ballet barres, restrooms, and high contact areas are sanitized after each class.
South Jersey Ballet students ages 3-18 receive individual attention and are encouraged to grow personally as dancers. At South Jersey Ballet, we believe that ballet can give dancers poise, confidence, and build character. All students have the opportunity to perform in two full length classical ballets each year including South Jersey Ballet Theatre's annual Nutcracker production. At the end of the school year, we finish with our student recital showcasing our traditional ballet choreography with new and exciting contemporary modern and jazz pieces.
