The Spivak Experience

by Suburban Family-- Editorial Staff
Spivak Jewelers is unlike any store in the jewelry industry. With its rustic theme and living room feel, the team at Spivak Jewelers is focused on more than just the jewelry. Upon walking into the store, you feel relaxed; it’s built to replicate a living room, rather than a showroom. You don’t feel like you’re talking with salespeople, more like you’re joining your friends and family. The store is owned by a father and son duo who found their passion in the art of jewelry. To them it’s not just about selling you something and making money, it’s about crafting an heirloom that you can’t wait to show off to your friends and family. Every single piece is chosen or designed with the recipient’s personality in mind.

It all started when a family with a dream made their way from Russia to the United States. At 16 years old, Gary Spivak spoke close to no English and his only passion was art. His parents brought their family to this country with very little to claim to escape the persecution they suffered in their home country. They worked with no rest to build a life for their children and a name for their family.

Gary found his way into the jewelry industry while studying at the Philadelphia College of Art, which is when he truly found his calling. He began by studying the work of a talented jeweler in Philadelphia. With the knowledge he gained and his own artistic talent, he became a master of the trade. Gary was designing jewelry that no one had thought of, while giving the luxury experience that no one expected. While raising a son with his wife, Sherrie Spivak, he built a name for himself in the industry. Little did they know, they were raising another name that would soon be well known in the industry.

Gary went on to manage a local store in South Jersey, where his son would one day come to work with him. Never knowing that he would also find his path in the jewelry trade, Josh Spivak began working at that store at 16 years old. He studied gemology at the Gemological Institute of America after high school where he graduated at the top of his class as a graduate gemologist before continuing on to study computer design. Josh soon mastered the trade of designing jewelry using the latest technology of 3D CAD designing. Josh continued on to intern for one of the most well-known designers in the world, Verragio.

After many years, the two were given the opportunity to create the experience they always wished for: to reinvent the jewelry buying experience. At Spivak Jewelers, you’re going directly to the source. There is no middle man. You’re talking to the people who design and perfect every item that goes out the door.

Spivak Jewelers specializes in custom designed bridal jewelry as well as fashion jewelry at every price point. From jewelry and watch repair to searching for the perfect engagement ring or the rejuvenation of an old style, Spivak Jewelers is the only place to get what you truly desire. There are no pushy salespeople. Every staff member in the store is family. When you walk in, you will never see an unfamiliar face.

Gary and Josh take pride in knowing that you will always receive a luxury, family-oriented experience every time you enter their store. The team at Spivak Jewelers does not work on commission, so there is never any pressure when entering their store. Their only interest is finding you what you want and deserve. Spivak Jewelers feels that every jewelry-buying experience should be a memorable one. They want more than just to sell you one item and let you walk out the door. They want to become a part of your family, and they make it known through every transaction. Whatever jewelry or watch need you may have, it’s worth it to test out the Spivak Jewelers experience.
